Training for Workplace-Wellness-Coaches
Motivational Health Coaching
This seminar has been designed in response to the growing interest in the role of Workplace Wellness Coaches, together with the recognition that coaching interventions can play a significant role in reducing the need for excessive sick leave.
The challenges and benefits of creating a wellness culture will be examined and each participant will have the chance to draw up a practical action plan to take what they have learnt back into the workplace.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the skills of the Health and Wellness Coach and to practice blending these skills with those of motivational interviewing, NLP and mental rehearsal for optimum results.
Together these skills will be explored in the light of creating a 'fit to work' culture within the workplace.
Specialist areas of wellness coaching will also be explored, together with the latest trends in health coaching both within the UK and abroad.
Aims
To introduce participants to the principles of Health and Wellness Coaching and explore it’s potential value within the workplace.
To explain the growing tend towards a ‘fitness’ culture, and away from a ‘sickness culture’ and to explore the latest Government reports driving these changes.
Suggested Learning Objectives
To provide a sound understanding of the principles of motivational health coaching.
To explore coaching definitions and models relevant to workplace wellness.
To become aware of the latest trends, in Health and Wellness Coaching, both nationally and internationally.
To have an appreciation of the contribution of both motivational interviewing and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to the coaching process.
To sample and evaluate a short coaching session in practice.
Who should attend?
This seminar will be of interest to workplace wellness coaches, or anyone working within the field of occupational health who has an interest in coaching, NLP, or motivational interviewing.
The material presented will help participants integrate the principles of health and wellness coaching within their own working environments and will be supported with referenced handouts and practical exercises.
